Here's my reply from gorillamaxx-

Hello Michael,

Thank you for your comments. We thought long and hard about discontinuing the G3R series. The dramatic drop in sales when Traxxas released the E-Revo, put the nail in that coffin. I would run a batch, but it takes more than a dozen to justify set-up costs; and that particular kit included several parts from out-of-house vendors. Unfortunately, some of these vendors did not survive the recession. We had to streamline our product line just to stay viable. At this point we are hoping for a better year in 2010 and with that will come additional new products.

Thanks for your support,

George Vangelatos

aww, that sucks!

Seems like I have to design a g-maxx-style chassis my self. If I only had the correct measurements especially for the front and rear connection to the bulkheads...

Shazam!
That doesn't sound promising.
I hope 2010 is better as well.

Peace!

Well I would still be interested, but I don't think gorillamaxx will run another batch because there is still the problem with to few people wanting one...

mike had most of the design done for a chassis - if there was interest he could do a batch but guessing it would be after his move

Well, if Mike would in fact manufactur a own version of the G3R, he could put in the holes needed for the CD/motor mount right from the start...
I would love to get one of those, especially if he was to make a CF-version.

Second that! If thats the case, I'll start looking for a good Nitro roller donor....

Given how Kershaw has his own erevo and emaxx chassis designs ( however mechano-like they happen to be ), Im suprized Mike hasnt come out with his own maxx and revo designs- would complement all the other chassis/ conversion kits he sells. Even more so if they come setup to use either a tranny or the slipperential & a mount- that would allow alot of personalisation without any modding required ( it amazes me how the thought of having to drill 4 holes fills so many people with such a sense of dread and fear... ).

what is it about the 3GR that you folks like? Is it the suspension? Would a Truggy-style truck with a Revo suspension be what all you guys want? Would be sweet!!

I think it pretty much is that yeah, a nice low slung symmetrical chassis with revo suspension- brilliant at racing and ideal for high-speed stuff.
