Start by swithing spur gears, Associated does have a 50T plastic spur or you can bump up to a 54t steel spur. For racing I use the 54t spur with a 14t pinion on 4s with the 2200 combo and I get good temps and the speed is just a touch faster than a very well tuned novarossi nitro mill. I did throw a 6s setup in last week to play for a second and it was crazy. My center diff only has 10k fluid but even at about half throttle I could still punch it and wheelie without a problem. Well there is one problem, I need to reglue both front tires!

I will have to check on the 50t spur...The 54 does not work because I am running 2 lipo packs. I have the center diff turned around and the can of the engine facing the front of the truck.

Really? I will have to check that out then and give HPI a call. I know the when I spoke to HPI they asked what pinion I was running and didn't mention it was wrong.. I got some research to do now..lol

all you need to do is use a 10 or 11t pinion and you will be fine. it will also help you further if you got some 3s pack to run in series or some smaller packs to run in parallel because those monsters you are running must weigh a ton.

also, the reason i got such a high top speed was because i added 1" of tire ballooning. at lower speeds, they will not balloon as much.

Differential Ratio: 4.5
Transmission Ratio: 1
Other Ratio: 1
Spur Tooth Count: 46
Pinion Tooth Count: 10
Total Voltage: 22.2
Motor KV: 2200
Tire Diameter (inches): 5.5
Tire Ballooning (inches): .4
Motor Current Draw: 0
Motor Coil Resistance: 0
Spur/Pinion Ratio: 4.6 : 1
Total Ratio: 20.7 : 1
Tire Circumference (inches): 19.79 inches (502.72 mm)
Rollout: 0.96:1
Total Motor Speed: 48840 RPM
Vehicle Speed: 44.22 mph (71.03 km/h)
Effective KV Value: 2200
KT constant: 0.61 oz-in/A
Motor Torque: Amperage not specified...
Final Torque: Amperage not specified...
Final Power: Amperage not specified...

a 10t pinion is what will make your truggy run happily.

They say a good mechanic only needs 2 tools - WD40 & Duct tape. If it moves, and its not supposed to, duct tape. If it doesn't move, and its supposed to, WD40.
