Need a semi smooth setup for revo on 4s/6s Tekin 1900kv? - 09.15.2010, 10:45 PM

I was thinking about buying a secondhand tekin RX8 with the sensored 1900kv. I decided that because I want to run 7 inch tall tires and do some slower speed crawling (along with really heavy bashing) I should probably go for a lower KV motor and gear accordingly. Since most run the 2200 I thought the 1900 would be a good KV on 4s/6s?

Being sensored should really keep it smooth on the bottom end so its not cogging horribly.

One thing that has confused me...tekin lists their 2200 motor as the "truggy" motor and the lesser KV 1900 as the "buggy" motor. Is the 1900 a smaller can or same size as the 2200?

I def dont want to go with a smaller can motor as I need all the torque I can get!

Thanks

*edit*

I was planning on purchasing a pair of each of these (so I can run both 4s or 6s) ...are they decent enough packs?

Tekin has a line of buggy motors and a line of truggy motors. The buggy motors have a shorter length can, there are various kv choices for each motor type, be sure that you are getting the longer can for a truggy

IMO on 6s the 1500kv will be much more efficient. I am not sure though how a 6s set up would work with crawling though
As stated above make sure you get the truggy motor. The batteries you are looking at are fine as well.

I've run their 2250 KV truggy motor in an erevo on 4s and it's ballistic. I actually went from 120 on throttle to 80 and it was still plenty fast. I'm thinking even lower than 1900 would be the better bet.

1900 is a buggy motor, you shoud go for the 1700 which is a truggy version. It will still be quite fast though, even on 4s.
