no the loose or broken strands will create a "hotspot" or point of increased resistance on that particular coil. in other words the current is choked down at that point causing excessive resistance or heat in so many words. have had this happen to some of my nue motors after a couple hundred races. nature of the beast i guess but the price we pay for awesome power. neu can rewind the stator for you think it was around $50 total last time i had it done. i bet the motor is just as hot if not hotter than the speedo when you run it right?
