I think a good start point for the 1550 motor on 5s would be around 50% timing advance coming in(start rpm) at perhaps 22k rpms and ending at 27k or so rpms. This should ramp into the timing advance at around 3/4 of full speed and max out the advance(15 degrees at 50% advance) as you approach what would be top speed without the advance. This is just a baseline start point and may vary on your particular track. Ideally, you only want the timing to advance on the long straight when you may otherwise "run out of legs". This allows you to gear lower for optimum low speed driving and efficiency on the main portion of the track, while also squeezing extra speed on the straight. :)
