Lol, yeah I'm still trying to figure out what I'm going to do with all these M0.8 pinions. Maybe I'll make a necklace for my wife

Sorry about the female plug mixup guys. I ordered a 1717 car version, but was a victim of the dreaded 1717 air/car mixup (despite Thomas's best efforts) and got the air version. This motor came with a set of female connectors, so I wrongly assumed they all did. My bad.

That said, when the new car motor comes in, I might check to see if it too comes with the female connectors, and if not, "borrow" them from the air motor package. Don't tell Patrick or Thomas though! Seriously, I'll call them first and they can just add the extra cost to my account.

I did get a set of females with a cm36 that I got back from repair, which was pretty cool.

Hi, the 1717 has arrived ! It is the CAR version, with 5 mm shaft (as it was ordered - Thanks Castle )

I have just noted that turning the shaft by hand is a more easily operation with respect the Castle 1520, as if the magnet would less stronger that the 1520 ones.

Is it normal ?

Bye, Andrea.

[QUOTE=Mmirage;383524]

They need unlimited R&D money for something BIG that is gonna come in the RC world ? Some Chinese guy perhaps showed up at Castle's CEO desk and offered him a design of a revolutionary (brushless) motor with 99.9% efficiency and 10% of the production costs of a NEU/Lehner/Pletti ???

Who knows....

What are your ideas?
QUOTE]

I would go with the R&D theory. Maybe a new pick and place machine to cover the large sales volumes created by the New HV Mamba ESC?

Yeah, I like this one the best.

Uh Huh! This one is true. I know.

My 2 cents. The knock-off's deserve it.

Castle is a great company with great products.

Got the rest of my 1717 (2X) car version today. I am very pleased with the quality of Castle Products. Thanks again for correcting the motors.

@Thomas, thanks for taking the time responding on my "conspiracy" post, appreciated. It explains a lot!
But what about the fact that you will have a pretty hard time selling even the popular motors at a normal price again after the sale? Like I said, who is gonna pay 200 for a 1515 from you guys when they can get a slightly bigger one for about half the price on ebay. Assuming that all of us who bought probably too much motors are gonna sell them again once the best motors for projects have been chosen.

Did not think abouth the soldering theory, interesting one
I do hate soldering myself as well.

My motors are in the hands of the evil customs guys right now...
Hope they aren't going to take over a week again like last time.

I'm guessing mine are stuck to. Though I still haven't received a letter asking the value and content of the box... Stupid customs!!

What do you need to pay for customs?

Dutch customs:
Less than 20 euro = free
From 20 to 150 euro = 19% on top of the product value + 12.50 euro declaration costs
Above 150 euro = 19% on top of the product value + 4.8% on top of the product value and shipping costs + 12.50 euro declaration costs

Mugen MBX6Te RCM + Mugen MBX6e RCM + Savage Flux XL FLM + MERV all with Spectrum DX3S || WTS&WTB

Bye, Andrea.

Seems OK to me as my 1717 turns a lot easier than any of the 15XX motors I have.

I initially ordered just one 1518 as I went pretty hard at my credit card last few weeks. Day or two later I had a change of hart and got another 1518 with 1520 and 1717. Don't even have cars yet to fit them in but at the price I couldn't resist. Was looking at the cheaper ------ copies but one would be crazy to spend more on a copy. Thanks Castle.

Now I have to order a buggy and a truggy to make use out of the extra motors I bought. Thanks Castle. (as if my credit card hasn't suffered enough already)

Anyway I placed the orders and with in a week I received them on the other side of the world. I didn't get a shipping notification like many others so I was a little worried but all turned out great. I guess they would have been far too busy trying to get all those orders out the door.

That's crazy. You guys get ripped off something shocking.

Here in Australia we only have to pay if the shipment exceeds AU$1000 (shipping costs excluded). If our customs fees were anything like yours I doubt I could afford to be in the hobby.

Less than £15 is free... anything over is %20 + handling fee... if its express mail its £18 handling fee, if its just normal it £10.... such a rip :( it makes me cry

cost me £50 to get my motors from customs... and thats not the most i have ever paid...
