Sorry -- these have been released to production, just not in the production schedule yet. We expect them to be available to the general public in early-mid November.

thanks for the update. early to mid november... I take it that is only for the 8s? will the 12s not be available till after christmas?

I found my Christmas present. Thanks Pat. Anyway of pre-ordering through Castle? I bought all these 8S capable motors and have no 8S capable ESC to run them.

but is it still the case that the 8s controller will on work with 8s if using mechanical brakes?

and

6s with motor brakes?

And the 12s controller only can take 12s if you use mech brakes

and 10s if you use motor brakes?

The 8s controller will work with 8s and brakes... The 12s controller with 10s with motor brake, 12 s with mechanical brakes.

I most definitely will be wanting to run 9s on the 1520.
Due to my savage now being more of a fatty since i have added the GH Alloy Bulks and put the lipo boxes back on... i have had to gear the top end down a bit to keep the truck from getting hot. So i now need to run more voltage to get my desired speeds... so i will definitely be wanting to run 9s.

Patrick, i know that these neu motors are well made, and i have heard people running 10s on a neu 1520! obviously this exceeds the reccomended RPM.
I used a calculator and have the figures here assuming the following.

Neu 1520 (1600 kv)
Motor Resistance = 0.008
Current draw = roughly 120 amps?

Voltage Vs Rpm
Voltage---@3.7V-------@ 4.2V
8s--------45,824-------52,224
9s--------51,774-------58,994
10s-------57,664-------65,664

If i can i would ideally like to run 10s and gear my top end down to compensate.
I have heard of few people running their motors on the limit like this with no problems.
Do you think this would be ok to run? obviously i would expext premature motor failure...

What do you think?

What is your rtr weight? Why don't you think that 8s will be enough for you (I can tell you from experience that 8s gives lots of power).

im not sure... but it used to be 14.3lbs fully loaded with 6s worth of lipos

Now it has GH Alloy bulks, Nylon Roll Cage, lipo boxes... so i would say around 15.5-16lbs? maybe more? i will weigh it properly very soon.

Oh i know 8s will give me MORE than enough power... But i want to go all out with this setup. I have spent a lot of money thus far and i think i should just max it out and be happy. Otherwise after i buy the 8s controller i will want the 12s one anyway! we all know how it is in this hobby :)

also considering...

i know many that run the 2650kv on 6s... on 6s at 3.7V its at 58,830 and 4.2V at 66,780

also i heard somewhere that, these motors are fine for higher RPMs but the bearings are only rated to 60,000rpm...
What would a bearing failure do to the motor? Would it be repairable or do you usually want to catch bearing failure before it happens? Can i replace the bearings with some decent ceramic bearings that are rated to higher rpms?

For my 19lb truck, I didn't see any real advantage to 10s over 8s, so I'm sticking with 8s. I can gear it for 50mph and with good batteries it has almost uncontrollable acceleration.
