I'd like to see battery packs start coming with 16-18GA balance wires and balance connectors rated for ~10A and just charge through the balance wires. Then, multi-channel chargers rated for 50w each would start to make more sense. Basically, a bunch of 1s chargers strung together...
There would be no more issues with improper cell count mistakes; the charger would simply activate the channel(s) with a cell attached. And there would be no more balancers to mess with. Yeah, the pack would be a little heavier, but I can deal with that.
