Batteries touch metal chassis and cause sparks? - 03.04.2006, 01:51 PM

Sometimes when I put my 8 cell ib3800's in my e revo, i notice the end of the batterys touch the chassis and causes a spark, I was just wondering if this is anything to worry about, and is it damaging the cells.

Thank you,

I had the same thing happen to me, they could damage the cells, if iwere you, id put some electrical tape around the batteries where the bars are, so it doesnt short circut.

The problem with nitro's these days are that they arent brushless... LOL

Even better. Why don't you put some heatshrink over your batteries?

It shortens run time while sparking. It can fry your esc to. Shrink is a good option. Some foam padding tape something.

Luckily it wernt connect to the esc :), seems ok with electrical tape, and the gorilla foam padding now, i cant fit 8 flat on the side of the servo, using the emaxx steering horn?

Any solutions?

Does'nt fit the E-Revo, never mind ive modded the straps so that the batts do fit.

This thing is fast compared to a hv maxx!

How fast u reckon i should be getting, 16 cells, 7xl, 20/66.

thanks,

depends on the tire you run. If you have some big joe looking tire over like a crime fighter.

I run bow ties on velocity dishes.

Thanks,

If you have the stock diff ratio. It would run about 42 mph if the tire is 140mm tall.
