Need help determining fair price for FS items! - 12.12.2010, 01:25 AM

I got back into RC and got a little crazy buying some random cars and now, after buying a house I just have no time for this stuff (its all in the way!). I am keeping two trucks (probably just one realistically) so everything else needs to go.

http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v3...c%202010%20rc/

The jist of it is a BL converted (MMM) Losi LST monster with Titanium tunbuckles and chassis - Full CVD's w/spares, aluminum knuckles, RPM arms, aftermarket FOC kit with upgraded tranny gears. 14mm, 17mm and the HUGE losi hexes (23 or 24mm I think)? also has traxxas 2.4 radio gear. Aluminum diff cases with upgraded diff internals. Also have a TON of spare parts, many new in package. Also includes a 6000mah 4s pack which has about 40 cycles on i but is a reliable pack. Truck is bullet proof!

I have quite a few sets of tires and bodies as you can see in the pics. Should I quasi-part this thing out or sell it as one huge lot? I still need an MMM for my revo so I was thinking I could part this and steal the controller maybe? Or just keep the truck together and buy another MMM off the Bay.

Jato 3.3, half gallon through it. Will need to be tuned as I have not run it since the summer. Aluminum shock towers F/R and bumper, CVD's, RPM all the way around. Two traxxas tuned pipes Traxxas tubes red annodized turnbuckels all around, aluminum hubs/axles, GTR shocks, Upgraded CF kit and traxxas upgrade chassis. comes with 3 channel traxxas radio and quite a few spare parts in a big zip lock.

BL Crt.5 with Mamba max esc (looks rough but works great) and a traxxas VXL motor (more torque and better temps than the 5700 I had in there). RC Monster CNC chassis (was 150 on its own!), battery tray. This started life as the "pro" version which had slightly better shocks than the RTR verison. Looks a little rough but its a great basher and its quick!

I also have 2 3s 5000 lipo's which are good for bashing (nothing special but take 5000+ mah charge and have only been cycled 4 times each). I have a never used True RC 3200mah 4s pack as well.

Lastly I have a power supply I had someone make for me quite a few years ago so I could plug my DC chargers into it for home use. I only used it for awhile when I ran ICE chargers. Runs on 120 and outputs 12V 8 Amps in DC.

This is NOT a for sale thread! I will probably start one or list this stuff on ebay after I have an idea what a fair price is and the best way to list it (parted out or rtr, etc).

Thanks for any help!!!

a good rule of thumb is half of what you paid (what you think it is really worth)
or less.

resale value sucks.

you always make more parting lots out, but it is more work. Large lot sales are easy.

those lst's have really went down in value, maybe worth $30-40 the way yours sets. i'll offer you $75shipped to help reduce your losses......

J/K

nice looking truck.

on a side note, you might be able to catch a good price on the lst at auction after xmas. i'm sure there will be alot of peeps with xmas money burning their pockets looking for a nice rtr monster. take your time and clean it up, stage very nice detailed pics, and give a clear detailed description. don't try to convince everybody its the best truck ever.

Its clearly the best truck ever I dont need to tell people that! lol JK it shows signs of use (like all rc's SHOULD!) but it is THE toughest truck I have ever owned in my 10 years of rc. I am building a revo up though (Love that suspension!) so this behemoth has to go as being a new home owner I technically have NO budget for rc stuff, let alone 5-6 of them!

Thanks for the info.

My estimates and suggestions. Keep the LST, I'm not a Losi fan but I'm sure it's tougher than a REVO. I've had a nitro revo, G2R revo, and E-revo and while they aren't bad they aren't great either. But if your dead set on getting rid of it I have no clue as to the value as I've never looked into them at all. The Jato I wouldn't expect more than $150 for it, but thats me. Sometimes I underprice things just to move them quick. Since they can be picked up new for about $300 though that's about right, as Harold already said you can expect about half and he's right. The CRT.5 is a tough one to sell, everyone here seems to have had one at one point but to the rest of the RC world they haven't even really seen them. The RC-M chassis doesn't really mean much to anyone that isn't a member here or doesn't know about the site. I wouldn't expect much more that $200 and that is prolly pushing it. The 500mah lipos you should keep if they are still doing good, at least see if they will fit in the battery compartments of the revo you plan on building. About building this revo, what exactly are you planning on doing to it? If you sell off these 3 trucks that should about cover the cost of a brand new E-Revo brushless edition. If you plan on running it with the Mamba 2200 on 4s the diffs will hold up for awhile, you can pick up spares for about $20 and it would take a lot of them to justify the cost of putting hybrids in it. If your going to run 6s I would make some room in your budget for the hybrids!

I already have the ERBE Roller and a 1518 to go in it (I know...driveline failure is in my future lol). The Losi is actually pretty competitive on the track and is a decent all around basher. I am addicted to the revo's suspension travel but I do know that with that comes the fragility of the driveline and truck overall compared to 1/8 MT's.

I really enjoy doing some light crawling when I bash and some pretty challenging offroad which the revo does quite well due to the suspension travel abilities. The MT's are easy to just plow through things and carry speed up/over them but that kind of takes the fun out of it for me.

I never thought at 24 I would be worrying about buying paint, flooring, appliances and yard equipment :( I miss the days of dumping every penny I make into my hobbies! I guess the house is now my new *forced* hobby lol. Really all I need to get the revo running is an MMM and some lipo's (was going to run 4s/5s). I was hoping after that expenditure (maybe 250) I would still have a good chunk of money left from the sale of all the above to buy a....*Drum Roll*......WATER SOFTENER!!! YAY!!!

$2000/month in daycare? Is it even worth working?

Some days I question it. Then again, being a stay @ home Dad may be more stressful than working lol.

lol that sounds about right. My girlfriends cousin has the local university daycare watch her baby m-f 9-5 and its 1700 a month! INSANE!

I am a recent college grad working at a dollar store (making less than I did BEFORE college...). I wish I brought home 2,000 a month let alone pay that just for daycare!!

Hmm I think im giong to start a new thread on this topic (career vs income vs location).

I chose criminal justice for my bachelors (Cough* MISTAKE Cough*) as there are not only NO jobs...there are NEGATIVE jobs out there (people getting laid off left and right).

Finnster...make you a deal...you move to northern IL and I will watch your kids for $1995 a month!

Ended up just putting the stuff on ebay (took awhile lol). The crt.5 sold @ 160 within 2 minutes of being listed...ironic because last time I did no reserve it ended at 155 reserve not met lol. I did throw in both lipo's for free though.

Thanks for the advice on the prices.
