best way to clean a dirty truck is to run it in the snow! Blah, Blah, Blah, everybody worries about their precious electronics. I've never had a MMM go dad during or after running in snow, even if I didn't coat it in liquid tape. Only servos that I've ever had die on me where crappy traxxas ones, and I've never had a rx go bad period. I'm not a fan of mud as it makes everything the truck touches afterwords a nasty mess. I've raced in some pretty muddy conditions and immedietly stripped the truck to hose it off with water and air.

I build to exact specs in my head(very pretty bling bling specs) then I go out and destroy them.

Just take lots of pics after the building and before the destroying, then you can have fun bashing and reminisce with the pics.

this was just covered in snow. it's still melting a little bit....normally, i just let my shit dry and brush it off with a paint brush...then i'll shake all the twigs and crap out of it and it'll be ready for the next session. For me, it's not as much fun if i can't get it covered in mud, dirt, leaves and snow. i didn't spend $650 just to look at it.

I have to admit I'm a bit of a wimp when it comes to getting my stuff muddy and filthy. Not so much that I worry about it hurting anything, but it's just a PITA to clean up afterward.

The way I see it, I'm the one who shells out the cash for it, so I'm going to run it how I want. And to be honest, I get more enjoyment from building and working on my vehicles than I do actually driving them, but I hate cleaning them. Probably doesn't make sense to many, but everyone is different.

I completely understand. The build is most of the draw for me. Choosing certain components from certain manufacturers and seeing it all work out and come together at the end.... aw hell, i'm getting teary eyed

Right there with you, I much prefer the build process. I hardly ever run an rc, but always have a dozen builds going.

Same for me also, Building and tinkering is my biggest draw to this hobby for myself.
I dont bash near as much as I used to, I'm more geared for the track now and cleanup is usaually pretty easy with 120PSI. When I do bash, I steer clear of standing water and mud. We have a lot of limestone hear and when it's wet it's like concrete when it dries !

I love the build, this Slash is years of broken parts and modifications. Making it one of the few in my fleet that has very few stock components. I love bashing as well as racing. I find it difficult to see those here that build these machines and never use them regularly. I am not saying you need to do as I do but just play with them at least.

I break and replace all the time, as well as clean. That in my eyes is also part of the fun. Especially since I can just grab a hose spray it clean, air dry it and throw some wd40 on her and she is ready to go again. Those that I have waterproofed, like my E-Raze, I simply hose down the whole thing without worry of the electronics and go from there. This little guy still needs some protection for the Castle ESC, but once I figure something out for that guy it is game on. I have to thank the Extreme Chassis though. If it wasn't designed the way it was I would have a lot more cleaning to do.

The only casulty was I lost 1 cell in the 6s pack,reconfigured it to a 5s all is well.

freeze,i think your the only one here that hasn't completely trashed an rc before,i just replaced the throttle servo on my baja after running in the snow and frying it. i'm out 150 bucks but it was still fun as hell!--josh

Amen, this is probably he 4th or 5th power system this Slash has seen. The car itself lives on though. The fun factor is extremely high!
