Hello everyone. I'm new to the forum. At 60 years old, I'm probably in the minority among you young scalawags!

Anyway, I just moved to a nice respectable neighborhood in Georgia that hates my noisy nitro helicopters and trucks. So I'm gradually converting the whole stable to brushless. My first project is a Savage Flux with a Castle 1518 motor. I'm using the GCM enlarged motor mounts. The gearing is 45/22 and it hauls on 6S. Glad I found this forum!

Nice Truck.

I'm running a 1518 in my E Revo right now. It's alot of fun even on 4S.

Thanks Sikeston! I have been on other BL forums, but this one has the most info on everything related to car/truck brushless systems. I just bought Mike's Baja conversion kit, along with a ton of his pinions for my next project. I definitely want to support this place.

Sucks, young wiper snapper. I have few years up on you, 6 to be exact. What's the saying. Growing old is mandatory, growing up is option. Still young at heart and trying to keep up with the grandkids.

Been in RC about a year. What a blast. Having why to much fun.

HAHAHA, my wife got me into rc by getting me a cheapo rc for x mas one year. She now considers it her biggest mistake (right after saying "yes" when I asked...).

I would say this forum has a wide variety of age groups, the mid 20s to 40 being the largest, by my count. We do have some ancient members (Jerry can you hear me? Smells like your depends need a swap) and some young-uns (rawbuns acts like a 8yr old) too.

Good to have you here, the 1518 looks good. Had no idea GCM made motor mounts, or are they just re-machined stock flux parts?

Hello, Linc! The GCM mounts are just standard Flux mounts machined out to 42mm for finned Castle motors. Expensive, but better than trying to do it myself. Drilling holes is the extent of my metal working skills.

Wife and I had a good laugh. We both are young at heart. Love our Polaris RZR and exploring the back country. Also into G scale trains. And RVing. What she likes about the RC stuff is it can go along in the RV. Life is much to short not to be young at heart.
