Hey Guys -
01.28.2011, 11:34 PM
Hey all i havent been around the RC world in about 3 years. Im thinking about getting back into the game. I sold everything I had except original stampede had an awesome losi 8ight 2.0 electric but its long gone. So whats the new rave in the RC world? I got on traxxas and the losi site to see whats new and it seems everything new is smaller size and also the short course stuff is the thing to be apart of, so fill me in and let me know where I should start back.
Thanks
Wil

It all depends on what you want out of it.
Bash, race, speed runs, etc?
Do you have a track near? If so what do they race?

Tall order :-)
What do you intend to do with your RC's? Race, bash, speed runs?
I left for a few years as well and have come back recently. Found motors and ESC's have come down in price reasonably. Lipos from places like Turnigy work bitchen, don't cost much, and there's no feeling of max-rape after the sale LOL.
Radios on the other hand haven't come down much at all :-(
Short course seems to be picking up in some area's and dropping out in others. I'm going to pick one up to play with the guys at a local track (ofna 10sc), but otherwise I'd consider it a waste of funds. It will go to the kids if SC fizzles out here.
Welcome back :-)
If I could only draw what I see in my head, then afford to build it, and finaly get to play with it...

you're the third person i've read of in like 10 threads that still has their original stampede.
the first two really like the new 4x4 pede, maybe try that.
Otherwise electric 1/5 scale bajas are pretty much the shiznit.
Welcome back!

Old pedes rock. Once you put cvds, xvl tranny internals and the newer talons they are just too much fun.
I am waiting on my 4x4 pede, but I have a feeling I will like it.

I agree the stampede is an excellent beginners platform. Spend your $$ modernizing it[bl,li-po, cvds, rpm/flm(depends on what direction you want to go)]
