If funding is an issue, start looking for a second hand MMM/2200kv kit, or pick up the MMM used and a 1717 from the sale (still have them on there for $70!!!!) . Having Castle stuff, even if you have to pay for warranty repairs it's a better way to go IMHO :-)
I've got one of Mikes "universal diff/motor" mounts that I hope to use in a MGT center diff conversion at some point with a 1717 I got in the Castle clearance sale. The mounts are out of stock but if you get on the "notify me when this item is in stock" list and e-mail Mike, he may do a run of them.
If I could only draw what I see in my head, then afford to build it, and finaly get to play with it...
