2 esc's powering 1 motor??? - 02.04.2011, 11:43 AM

Is it possible? Found this on another site, I don't know if I'm missing something, pics are a little hard to make out on my phone. But it looks like a pair of MMM powering a single 1717 in a 1/5th MCD. It doesn't look like there's a mount on the other side for another motor. Either way I'm curious if it 2 esc's could power 1 motor without issue.

That car is probably using a dual ESC/Motor. You can see that the wires from the motor go directly to one controller. In the other controller are (I think) the wires connected from the second motor.

The car looks awesome too, a 1/5 or 1/6 rally car?

Yeah, it looks like there might be another motor on the other side...

Now that I'm looking at it on my pc, I can see the wires only go to one esc. Still makes you wonder if it is possible to do 2 esc's powering one motor though. Although I'm not sure if theres an application where you'd want to.

In the picture to the right, there is the buggy version, you can see there is a motor mount on each side of the CD

Built Ford tough, with Chevy stuff.

If you search through "GriffenRU" old post's I recall him explaining how to "clock" the two motors together to be used with a single ESC.

Actually thought about using a pair of 1415's in a 1/8th buggy for their 100K rpm ability, could gear very low for torque and still get a very high top speed.
Dunno know if it would really be any better than a 1527 geared high...

If I could only draw what I see in my head, then afford to build it, and finaly get to play with it...

I also remember him using a novak motor and a feiago ran on the same spur to allow a sensor only novak esc to run the feigao. The novak motor was just a sensor. Very smart guy is Artur, wonder what happened to him? I chatted with him on the phone a few times. He said he was moving but never came back here... Oh well, life goes on, right!

Man, that was a good one. May want to discuss that with a nutritionalist, as I do not think trying to eat the wheelchair would be good for the health...
