Well, I started the 5T stuff today. I'm using a Neu 2230 1Y motor in Mike's conversion kit. The 2230 fits with about 2mm of clearance to spare!

Had to route the wires through the back brace, but it fits great.
I'm going to use the Mamba XL on 8S so I can have brakes and reverse. Thanks for all the great advice on this forum. Especially doo540! I love your 12S Baja.

Also, thanks to the wife for letting me spend $850 on a motor. Love ya babe!

Are you going to use a mild gear for 100mph or go all in for 150?

That is a huge motor!!! Badass, can't wait to see the finished product!

You just let loose the gates of hell on that bigass motor! As for the price,that's comparable to a trevor Simpson gas engine that wouldn't even stand a chance! Can't wait to see this run!

Yes, it was custom built from Neu. Made without the front fan so no dust sucking on this motor!

Thats a huge motor for sure. My Neu 2220 is more then enough motor for me. The sure power that beast will have I can only guess. What kv did you get for that thing?
I'm still running the fan on my motor, with no problems yet.
What are you doing for tranny upgrades, axle shafts, tires? Wheelie bar?

The motor is 750 KV. I'm following your lead and using PhatDad 5mm crossover bones and cups. The trans has all the HD option gears with a Turtle quick diff, Craftwerks titanium shaft. Not sure what wheels to use.
I did make a homemade wheelie bar using a Modified-RC v2 bumper and a Savage Flux wheelie wheel. I like the Flux wheel because it is larger and fatter than the stock Mod-RC one. Got a 5mm shaft for the wheel and am using Boca bearings and 6061 spacers to hold it in place. Hope everything stays together!

I like what you did to that bumper, like you said the stock wheelie wheel is too small, my truck will just right back and stand on the bumper at 90 degrees to the ground.
Are you running a spool or diff setup in the tranny? I have a aluminum spool and I really like it. Sounds like we have the same drivetrain setup. Very nice setup.

I think I will have to steal another idea from you and lock the diff with a spool. After watching vids of numerous Baja's, it's obvious that traction is going to be a problem.
Hate to say it, but experimenting and building is almost as much fun as driving! I can't wait. Thanks doo for all your help.

I agree 100%. I probably spend 5x as much time wrenching on my vehicles than driving them, maybe even more. And I enjoy every bit of it. Building a vehicle up from a pile of parts is my favorite thing to do. These "toy cars" are amazing marvels of engineering IMO, and that's what really keeps me interested in the hobby. I love to tune, adjust, and experiment with all the parts and settings.
