Brushless Hyper 8 - 02.15.2011, 05:51 AM

Hi, Im new to this forum, and l am trying to find the best/quickest brushless 1/8 motor for one of my Hyper 8. atm l am using a speedpassion 3.5t brushless motor, xerun 150A esc and 2 8000mha 11.1v lipo (in parallel) top speed of 99km/h, but still not quick enough. Does anyone know what it a good 1/8 motor?

would a Castle 1/8 Mamba Monster Brushless Motor 5mm 2650kV be better than a Tekin 1/8 Redline T8 Brushless Motor 4030 2D 2650kV? not to sure which one is better, whats your opinion?

2650kv on 6s is a bit high - 2200kv is better for 6s

The 2200kv has a longer rotor (more torque) and hence I think would survive better for sustained high speed.

You could try with a 2650kv - but it will have to be speed run or 2, cool down, speed run, cool down etc etc

If you really want one of the 2650kv motors, then I would buy the castle/neu without a doubt. Several member on this forum have used it for speed projects, and speed seems like your thing? You could run 3-4s for offroad track, and 5-6s for short speed runs.

I bet the tekin is a good motor too, but I haven't heard anyone using it on 6s with success.

If you wan't something reliable, run the castle 1512 1,5y 1800kv on 6s. Best buggy setup I've tried.

I don't think 1/5 scale shocks are going fit, but surely some nice big-bores would fit just right

I like the ones on the hyper 9e, with the full-alu caps. Thats what I've got on my hyper 8,5 Pro. The plastic eyelets in the normal caps broke the first time I landed badly.
