Unhappy Ahhh!!!! What happened??!!!?! :'( - 03.07.2011, 11:22 PM

I was finally able to afford a MMM 2200kv combo again, and i put it in my new to me losi 8T and i test drove it in my basement to make sure everything was running right and after about a minute it went up in smoke idk what happen but it was stuttering a lot and then it smoked theres a big melted area on the side of the esc. My problem is that since i just spent all my money($300!) on this system i was wondering if castle could just send me a new one because i have proof that i bought this a week ago from tower and i can take pics of the damage, i cant really afford to ship it because im 16 and i have no job :( and my parents dont have that much money to help support my hobby.

You should stop when you see your vehicle stutter like that. That is a whole lot of stress on the ESC, hence the smoke. Castle will take care of it.

Ironic that Stormer hobbies have the MMM system for $240- the money saved their could have paid for shipping, but I think castle will send you a pre-paid mailer to return the cooked esc regardless- dem cool like dat

When you get the new one, hook it upto your PC with a castleLink & check the firmware version; best stable version is v1.24

When I hooked my MMM from Tower up it had 1.23 on it, so I upgraded to 1.30. Was that a mistake? Should I go back to 1.24?
