these are some interesting bullett plugs.

they are like inside out male female plugs. i dont even know what to call them.

anyone ever try them. they are pretty darn cheap compared to the standard style.

I remember seeing those for $6 a pair a while back... IRRC it was hyperion...



I use 3.5mm HK ones on everything, including my 1/8 buggy(6s) and have never had a problem...

have you had any issues with the tips touching since that females end seems like getting heat shrink around it looks tough?

according to what i've seen and heard, they can handle just a little more power than deans plugs. if i didn't have about 50 pairs of knock-off deans plug lying around, i would switch all my plugs to the xt-60.

Allerc.com do sell some similar bullets, but I had issues with the shrink sliding down the connectors when I used normal 5.5mm bullets; I imaginer those would be even worse.

I don't like them. I prefer the bullets with the female being like a tube and the male having the slots. Reason why for me is I like to cover the bullets with high quality heat shrink with glue inside. When the shrink is heated, the glue melts and the result is a better bond between the shrink and the plug's surface. But I do have to clean up the glue that seeps in the male plug's slots. Easy to do with a hobby knife on the standard bullets but it would be impossible to clean the slots on that female plug. If using regular heat shrink with no glue inside then it wouldn't be an issue.

EC5 connectors, rated at 120 amps continuous and easy to solder even with 8 gauge wire.

I recently changed all my connectors over to EC5's from Deans. I found that with the deans i would be pulling the wires not the connector but with the EC5's i am pulling the plastic housing. Also, the bullets are far easier to solder and recently i was having trouble with melting deans but this is not an issue with the EC5 bullets.

Where is the cheapest place to get EC5 females? (er...the ones that go on the battery side, I can never tell which is which on these housed bullet style plugs.)

If it wasnt for shipping then Hobbyking would be cheapest ( female connector is the female bullet & the larger plastic housing that goes over the male connector as such ). Otherwise, probably ebay really..
