JANG at URC is testing a Maxamps Pack

I just got done scan-reading the entire thread up to page 16. Those guys sure are skeptical of the way he did the test and are all saying he should have done it differently. And whoever mycrors4 is seems to be a MA fanboy and does not know what he is talking about. He says its no big deal if a pack puffs up and that he has never heard of a MA pack failure. He must be in his own little world or something.

To some extent I believe the skepticisim is justified. He said it was a constant 30 amp discharge then later went on to say he used a string of light bulbs as the discharge load. That will not result in a constant load as the voltage decreases.

Not to say the results would be different with a true constant 30 amp load, but when your technique is off, it can call into question other aspects of the test.

One would figure with all the stuff he does, he would have had a discharger capable of constant current discharge (like a Turbo 35 or a Tekin DIS-350).

Provided he used the same setupfor all the tests I don't really care.

I think the chart speaks for itself.

we all know maxamps packs are the absolute worst batteries made so why are yall surprised that the POS couldnt even hold its own in a 30A dicharge? If jang tested it with something more accurate the results will only get worse for MA.

MA Brandon thought the folks at the aircraft section of the link bellow was stupid or something, because he had the guts to try and promote more BS, but this was with their so claimed True 100C car pack.

I really hope someone takes MA to court before they make lipos illegal due to absurd ad dangerous claims. Specially when it seems the Government is trying to stick their hands into everything. I thought false advertising was illegal.

I agree, I'm no electrical genius, but as long as the test stays the same, how are the result's questionable?

I hooked up a Maxamps "True 150C" pack to my Flux XS over the weekend, did 3 laps of a little circuit we made with that, a Zippy 5000mah 30C and a Turnigy Nanotech 6000 65/130C

On a fresh charge, the Maxamps pack was the only one to go under 6v pack voltage from a standing start (max amp load of 140 amps)

so.. 150C? B...S! Just glad it was my mates pack and not mine!
