Thanks for sharing Neil. The electric bike has already come a long way just in the last few years. So tell us what that was all about. Was that some kind of local race for promoting the use of electirc motorcycles? Any ideas on specs? Top speed, cost, company names? I agree, I like the sound of those bikes.

Isle of Man TT races- those were the zero-emission bikes.
who says electric doesnt sound cool ? that thing is a turbine scream
love it
im guessing they have the punch control turned way down so it doesnt just wheelstand all the time
Just think guys- when electric cars and motorcycles become mainstream, we already know how to make them go faster. We r/c dorks are poised to become tomorrows speed gurus. Please use your powers for good, not evil

This guy was in popular mechanics a while ago,I LOVE gas cars and bikes but damn, once our batteries catch up and nerds like you guys get ahold of them a 300mph bike will be average!
Seeing an electric motorcycle that can go over 200 mph is thrilling, but very unrealistic for the average street rider. Give us a bike that has passing power, can run in the 100 mph range, and travel 200 miles on a single charge and the customers will line up around the block to get their hands on one. I could imagine something like a Goldwing type of bike with all of its storage capacity being able to carry enough battery cells to make a long range run, but until that happens most of these projects are merely tokens for the industry to improve upon, because who wants to pay $20K+ for a vehicle that can only travel 50-100miles on a single charge and take 8 hours to re-charge. I have faith that things are on the right track, but those days may still be a ways off yet.
Here in Prague I saw a brand new electric Smart car this afternoon (VERY COOL). I am trying to find out the range and other specs on it, but they are perfect for running around any down town Metro area (to & from work, store runs, or hitting the gulf course or gym). Plus most of the newer homes here come with a built in 440volt hookup in the garage for heavy electric equipment. Perfect for quick charging setups.
