MMM pinion - 06.27.2011, 11:49 AM

What pinion gear should I go with for my MMM on my Emaxx 3905? I've been out of the RC thing for a few months and I'm a little lost on what I should buy. Thanks

The bore will be 5mm, pitch will be 32P or Mod 0.8 (they are basically the same). As far as tooth count, it really depends on a number of things: voltage, tire diameter and weight, how fast you want to go, and more.

Use this calc to solve for what tooth pinion to use. Shoot for about 35-40mph top speed for starters.

Just ordered a 22t pinion. Pretty sure that's the same as stock. We'll see how it works. Now to order some A-Arms and bulkheads and other little pieces that broke when the truck decided to go out of control and hit a mailbox doing like 25mph

Stock is 18t on the 3905/03 emaxx- what batteries are you running ( voltage, brand, C rating, mah )?

Guessing at what gearing to run without knowing what speed it'll actually give you is never a good idea, help us to help you...
