I realize this effect could, alternatively, be a design change in the stator, so I'm asking the question.
My Guess is that the amount of Neo mag material may have decreased, due to the increase in price.

I noticed in the latest RC Car Action that you are now going to offer the 1410 with the MM Pro in a racer SC package w/5mm rotor, Can that package be got with a 1/8 rotor? I have an ST (T4) that i would love to use that in, But finding 5mm 48 pitch pinions will be a Bugger and a rebuild kit just to convert would be a watse

I'd swap you a new unused 1410 I have with a 1/8" shaft for that new unused 1410 with a 5MM shaft - it would save both of us buying rebuild kits (sorry, Patrick) or having to take the motors apart.

ok, figured it was a possibility. Could be the mass of the longer wires is holding the magnetism better, I know the wires are not touching, But can the wire length effect the feel of the magnets?

There has been two small changes in the magnet design on the 14xx series since we started building them.

Neither of them has anything to do with the cost of magnets (unfortunately.)

One was to make the rotors more consistent from production run to production run (magnet alignment)

The other was to improve back-emf matching.

So yes, you might feel some difference between earlier and later build-date motors.

Thank you. But now:

1) What does "improved back-emf matching" do for us in terms of motor control, driveability, or performance?

2) Would it be correct to assume that since the rebuild kits came out after the first of the newer dresign motors with the stronger detent feel, that the rebuild kit rotors would be the same as the newer design rotors in the motors?
