12.19.2011, 10:38 PM
Does anybody have any experience with this truck?
http://www.hpiracing.com/kitinfo/107018/
I'm kind of interested in this truck but I've never seen any info on it it looks cool but my main concern is durability if anybody has had any experience with this truck please let me know if its worth buying. I know it was released before in other countries and its finally arriving in the u.s.
I like to go HIGH with my RCs!!!

No experience with this particular truck, but lots with HPI products. HPI in general makes very durable products, I would not be concerned with durability.
The electronics are a big question mark, they don't look like they are Castle products. HPI has great customer service if you would have any problems.

Looks like the old LSP - One of the better truggies - RC8T or MBX6 would be perferable IMO

Like Arct1k said, basicly a Hot bodies Lightning stadium pro 2. It's what i call a 1st gen true truggy, One of the first to go long arm and long chassis (post ofna dominator/pirate chassis). Nice tough basher, not sure about racing against some of the 2nd and 3rd gen truggies
Work because i gotta, play because i wanna
People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise

I think Arct1k's suggestion was based on a racing level truggy? I'm not sure.
As a pure basher HPI is top notch.

My D8Te has been a very solid basher. It takes a lot of abuse for a heavier truck.
This truck looks nice, I'm sure it will be fine as a basher.

I am looking at getting one of these when towerhobbies gets them instock. I have always wanted a truggy. Had monster trucks and 1/8th buggies but not a truggy. I have wanted one ever since they first came out

That truck is an electric version of the Hot Bodies Lightning Stadium truggy! I thought it was dead and gone but when I started looking at the pictures I was amazed. I LOVED my LSP-R!
Compare some pics. Look at the front shock tower, as well as the rear chassis brace design.
Weak Points:
C-Hubs. By gods, I hated the C-hub design. Constantly broke on a hard landing. The stock steering knuckles were weak as well, consantly stripped out the T-bolts. I fixed it by making the truck a hybrid. 7075 Aluminum C-hubs and steering knuckles for a Kyosho 7.5 fit from TopCad. Losi LST outdrive shafts paired to Sportwerks CVDs. Worked beautifully.

That is interesting. Maybe can wait and take some parts of the new HPI truggy and rebuild my Lightning. I wait and see what happens.
Peace!
