It geeks unite - 12.30.2011, 08:29 AM

I am not one of the IT geeks around here, but maybe there is more to this than just a simple IT problem. Maybe he finally reached his point of no return where money is concerned for keeping the UE forum viable. I have no idea what it is costing him to keep the forum up and running even without IT problems, but I doubt that anyone could keep one up for very long without having some source of income to maintain it. Maybe someone else from our forum who might be able to lend some technical assistance should reach out to him and offer some level of IT support. Robin has not answered my last two emails, but he did ship off my last UE store order so we know he is in there doing something. I just figured it might be tie to gather up what is still left that I can use, and at the same time infuse his company with a little cash flow in case it might help in some way.

It is sad to think that the UE forum may never come back up, but only he knows for sure whats in store for us UE fans. If the doors are closed for good all of our UE gear has become worthless to some, but priceless to others. I can see how it would be difficult to invest in any product when there is no support left to give one a good feeling, but at the same time it is pretty cool to own custom engineered R/C hardware that just cannot be found anywhere else. Kind of like restoring an old 1:1Baracuda, or an old Corvette Stingray. One has to admire the shear artwork, design, & engineering thought put into these items. Plus they look better than anything else on the market in quality hands down. I have lots of RCM gear as well and it works great & holds up just fine to the riggeres of our hobby. For the cost in comparison it is simply a better choice for the average hobbiest as well. But to own rigs made up of mostly UE parts is quickly becoming a real R/C collectors dream. Even after UE is long gone these trucks will live on with great respect within our hobby. I plan to play with my trucks well into my twilight years, and I am sure that my boys will love having them as a memory to all of the time we spent builiding the together.

SUPERMAXX YOUR LIFE.
