The new tranny is superior to the old tranny in pretty much every way except size(single speed converted original tranny with a hardened idler and beefed top gear is a stout, light and small tranny - hard to come by these days, though).

I was just making an observation based on looking at the chassis rails, looked like it could accommodate both. I to like the newer design better, all i got though is the old one. I do plan to get a newer transmission, but got to deal with what i got for now
