Yup. It's unfortunate, but eventually people will get the hint. The market simply won't stand for it.

It doesnt take that many people when they are making a 200 dollar per pack profit like that. Especially since their overhead is low, that is a cash cow. Moooooooo

Ponzi scam - 02.09.2012, 04:02 AM

Maybe there is a Madoff involved in this company? If so there is no guilty feelings about ripping people off for every penny you can get out of them. Whats sad is that there have now been two seperate independant comparison tests done that we have seen that resulted in obvious performance issues, and yet Maxamps still have not come up with any kind of video or testing of any kind to prove the oposite. My belief would be that they have tried and failed, so why post up anything at all that confirms that their competitors do have a better, cheaper, stronger product? Things that make you go hummmmmmm????

I liked the test that "the jang" did. Really shows that MA are infating all of their numbers. Plus the price of the pack is just plain funny. Who would pay 150 bucks for a 2s lipo? Do people not do research before they purchase anymore? Unless MA step up their game they will not last, that is all I have to say.

We have been saying that for years now, but it seems they are still going strong. Very sad actually. I have to think who is to blame for their success? Is it MA and all of their lies? Or is it uneduacated noobs that dont research first and think expensive must be better? If MA says they sell the best packs in the world then it must be true! Kinda reminds me of that line from Tommy Boy: I could get a good look at a t-bone steak by sticking my head up a cows ass, but I would rather just take the butchers word for it"

That line makes a very nice visual. That says it all as far as MA is concerned. Whats really disapointing is that if they would produce a solid battery pack and sell it for a reasonable price they could be the number one Lipo supplier, because they for sure have the best sales gimicks, and hype in the market.

Thats why they wont change their rating system. Because no one would pay 150 bucks for a 2s lipo rated at 6C. We have explained it to them and they completely understand what they are doing.

When the whole 6500 not having the capacity as expected, did anyone weigh the pack? Reason I ask is that the 5250s are listed as quite a bit lighter than the 6500mah.

Not having the TrueC Rating description that was there on the website is a bit troubling ... If they want to rate stuff there way fine, have scene companies do this back in the NIMH days but I would think they should state the difference on the site.

Looks like MA is getting some more flak over there $19.99 lipo alarm that appears to be the same as the hobbyking one for $3.70 ...

Makes you wonder - 02.29.2012, 04:32 PM

Kind of makes you wonder who is making these God awful decisions to try and fool the general public. Honestly I would be embarrassed and ashamed to work for a company that does crap like this. It just creates a vision in my head of these guys standing around in their one car garage for a shop discussing how stupid some people are that they would pay twice what something is worth just because they put a flame sticker on it and call it the best invention ever discovered in the hobby. Oh yea and lets over exagerate the rating numbers, which the average person is so much of a moron that they would never know the difference.

I am simply amazed that so many R/C enthusiests are still buying this crap and spending their hard earned money on a product the relys on false advertising, and specs that are blatently obvious and rediculous.

I was talking to Mike the other day about this very thing. They just cater to the less-experienced/knowledgeable hobbyist who go by all the "awards" in magazines (after all, we all know those awards are legit). MA does do a decent job in detailing what fits in your Rustler/Slash/Revo/etc - but that's about all I can say good about them...
