I know, I read most of it again and I own an XO-1, CLL is nowhere to be found.

FG101C: I felt the same way when I found out.

Cmac: lol Yeah, the noobs don't know the difference that's why it's taken so long after the release for us to find this out.

Maybe someone from Castle Creations(or Traxxas) can jump in and set us straight?

While Traxxas owns the forum and can control the community however they like and there current growth curve indicates they are doing some things right they could do more to not erode some of their base as many very knowledge users that benefit the community and in turn Traxxas will not take part in the boards.

I completely agree that the community on the Traxxas forum can't self police in any sense of the word but that does nothing to justify how the mods (including you) handle situations since it's the policies being enforced that are being questioned more so then the need to moderate.

The company has no motivation to address the concerns and won't unless money motivates them at some point in the future, it's a different point of view and while I can respect Traxxas success I and many others do not agree with how the company conducts it's community relations.
Have to reply to my own post because I was reminded that I no longer have warning points. Apparently they eventually get removed but after a number of months I stopped watching.

My opinion on the Traxxas forums is shared with many here but I will give a compliment to those moderators that almost seem to be conflicted sometimes, they are supposed to enforce the rules but don't seem to always agree. Then there are others (cough cough dadx2mj) that ban a video of the XO-1 for not being family friendly because someone in it is drinking a beer.

In any case the company is making money hand over foot and the Zealot like loyalty of many members and moderators confuses me but I guess it fills some sort of void for them.

Didn't take long, maybe coincidence or maybe it has something to do with my post this morning but he took offense to a comment in a marketplace thread and now I have some points against me. Traxxas allows public negotiations on price (suggest they follow RCM) and when a buyer was using false statements I said something defending the seller, that is what dadx2mj didn't like.

Back on topic, after looking for a while I broke down and asked my wife is she has seen my iPhone 3GS (stopped using it last year) and it apparently found it's way into one of the boxes she dropped in my office that I'm supposed to sort through. The effort of testing the ESC has turned into a organization project so it may not be until tonight but I'm not giving up yet.

padrino I really dont remember removing a video because it showed beer consumption but I would have had I seen it. It is against the rules Traxxas set for their forum just like bashing an asking price in a for sale add is. I informed you of this but you insisted on re posting it anyway. The rules there are what they are and you agreed to follow them when you signed up for the account.

Since you jumped over here I'll point out something using the very rules you mention:

Quote:
No drug, alcohol, or tobacco references. Discussions about or references to drugs and alcohol that serve to promote their usage are not allowed. Traxxas encourages community members to be drug, alcohol, and tobacco free.
So this video was posted with a reference to alcohol to "serve to promote their usage"? The primary, secondary, and even tertiary purpose was not to "serve to promote their usage" so edit the rules or clarify Traxxas usage of the english language so I know what I agreed to follow when I signed up for the account.

..........

As for the ESC, it's looking promising if I get back on it this afternoon.

This is not the place to debate the rules of the Traxxas forum, I regret answering your post here in the first place. I will just say this and then bow out. Guest mods such as myself do not make the rules nor have the ability to edit them. The rules come from Traxxas and we (mods) only carry them out has instructed to by Traxxas. If you have an issue with them then your issue is with Traxxas not the mod who did has he was instructed to. You have been a member there a long time it is hard for me to believe you dont understand or comprehend how the rules are enforced there by now. The rules also explain where and how to voice your opinion if you have an issue, the open forum there or here are not the place to effect a a change if that is your desire.

PEACE OUT

I don't think anyone understands or comprehends how the rules are enforced over at the traxxas play pen; different mods interpret & enforce the rules however they like, then delete posts, threads & members if they are questioned about the arbitrary nature of the moderation. And that's a fact.
