MMM V3 blows up after just 12 runs :( - 04.05.2012, 07:09 AM

Well it didn't blow up, it went out quietly.
It was running in a Losi 8T on 4S, then suddenly stopped. No magic smoke, nothing.

Servo still receives power and so does the receiver, but there are no beeps and the fan doesn't work.

Is this the ESC or the motor?
The problem is I bought it off a forum member, brand new:
On the right

Since being off a forum I don't have a proof of purchase, but you can clearly see it's had very little use, the internals will be very clean. Also it is a V3, not the most reliable generation :(
Is there anything I can do?

Last I checked, non-warranty replacement/repair was $70. It's cheaper than buying a new one.

The ESC was replaced in November so it is only 5 months old. Surely it must be covered under warranty?

Just send it to castle with a nice note. Chances are they will hook you up.

I think they have a way of telling when it was produced by opening it up. If you know for sure its less than a year old send it in for warranty repair. They will probably tell you if it doesnt qualify.

Yours did better than mine, I got about 5 seconds. Plugged it in and about 5 seconds into calibration all the light went out. Still had rx and servo power but nothing else, in to Castle it goes.
