How fast does it go? How much did it cost? Does it wheelie? Can I drive it?

That is very cool. I want to build a crawler now, but something scale. I love the little details, the hooks and the metal work. Are those parts soldered together or are those weld? Shows how little I know. Very nice man can't wait to see it finished.

@Snell; Thank you, I enjoy your builds and videos as well.

@Harold;
Since it's intention is a recovery truck I'm trying to gear low, I think it'll hit roughly 20mph at WOT but thats not the intention. I just wanted to make sure I have the power for good wheel speed in the loose stuff, Especially with this pig's weight being around 15lbs.
I hate to think what I've invested into this build but my best guess would be roughly $2K+
No wheelies
No

@FG
The brass work is soldered, see post #7
Thanks for looking.

More updates, New knobs and gimmick for the TX bling bling baby.

Wires are ran nice and neat but will be covered by the bed, everything is wired for quick and easy disconnect to make maintinance or repairs a bit easier.

Made a loop for a permanant to wrope w/hook up front.

Also made a place for the winch hook to rest between jobs.

LED's Front and rear and in the electronics compartment

Was really difficult getting the wires this neat, I hate it looking like this not much more can be done. At least the door hides it between battery changes. The box with switches control the LED's, have a 3rd for new addition whatever it'll be ?

Sorry guys, there was a small mix up and there was a accidental close of the thread for a few days and I also requested a move to this sub forum because it seemed more fitting.
Any ideas or constructive criticism I'm open minded, feel free to post up.

Suggestions?! I thought you had it all covered? Hmmm... now that I'm looking for something... how about some trim to protect the edge of the ply? That is if you intend to drive it while it's still on it's side like in the video

I do and will, Scuff and scratches are expected and they build character.

Take Harold for instance, his face is all feked up and Hippy loves him no less despite the years worth of bumps, bruises and worn out orifices

Jeff this build is one of the most creative, detailed builds I have seen on these forums since becoming a member. From the creative perspective...I braze a little, weld a lot so I know what it involves to work with metal. The fabrication in this build is terrific.

Now, on to the question everyone wants to know....how many cases of beer to build this. I personally wish I could sit down with a case of beer in a day to work on my rc's...that would be heaven....lol.

Seriously, exceptionally well done. You should bring it to the next rc show.

Thank you Brian, a most appreciated comment my friend.

Lost count of the beers consumed during building ?
Beers, Iron Maiden on the Stereo and that work bench is my place of solitude and happiness for sure.

During a test and tune Saturday afternoon I broke the pin on one of the outdrives and came to the conclusion the bump steer on the #2 and #3 axles is horrible. So after taking some time away from the project I replaced the pin and started on a new servo mounts for the axles. Heres what I got done this afternoon with minimual beer consumption.

This is a very elaborate piece and was difficult getting the last parts soldered without heating it up to much to drop other parts off. Was extremely frustrating but it's done, I look to possibly simplify the second one ?

Bottom line the bump steer issue should be solved with these !

Since Hippy got into the biking scene he's left me alone in the dungeon. If he's ever feeling randy he just pops the seat off his bike and goes for a ride.

Well if you get lonely you always have your teddy bear, you know, the one with the picture of Jame's face with the mouth cut out and strategically pinned on the backside.

The one you made him for his b-day Jeff? He sent me pics. While he was using it. I threw up a bit that day.

Axle mounted servos? That is cheating, you just need to make your linkages correctly. Shame on you for taking the easy way out.

I tried everything I could to stay away from servo axle mounts but Oh well I guess. For what it's worth these will not be as visable since it's the 2nd and 3rd axle getting them, the rear one might get a cover/shield to help hide it ?
