There is no on/off button. The esc turns on when you plug the battery in and shuts off when you unplug the battery. Those instructions were printed for previous controllers that did have a switch. Just ignore the switch part.
There will be a large spark when you plug in the battery. Do not be alarmed at this, it is normal. It's "Dr. _paralyzed_" actually. Not like with a PhD, but Doctor like in Dr. Pepper. |
