iphone question?

I'm on T-mobile and I have been using the Iphone for some time now. Now Apple unlocks them so that you can use which ever carrier you want, or use pre-paid. This is referred to as a factory unlock. I have had 4 Iphones unlocked by some individual using some sort of software that I couldn't possibly understand, and they had also been jailbroken, I have no clue what this means. Anyways, eventually all of those started performing like crap because you cant update the software without loosing the unlock. Now that Apple is unlocking them you can update them with no issues and they work great. My wife doesn't have an iphone and none of her phones have ever performed like my current Iphone. I like them personally, but to each there own I suppose. I understand not liking a company for your own reasons, I myself refuse to go in Walmart. For me I cant beat the price of it either, I can get an Iphone 3gs off Ebay for $100 to my door in great shape. It's not brand new, but it all works and does what I need it to do which is stay connected to Ebay and the forums so I can buy more parts Honestly, I very rarely make a call with it.
