Mind that puddle!

Had a total RC disaster yesterday.Been having some stabilty issues with my losi MF2,basically can't keep the front wheels on the ground since I under cut the middle 3 treads on the rear dirt hawgs by a few mm which makes little fingers to grip the tarmac,solved the traction problem but now it works a little too well.

i was doing a little speed run,feeding the power in then at around 40mph go for full throttle and it flips onto it's lid, then kept sliding for miles(bodyshells don't grip too good on tarmac) straight down the road,across the junction and came to rest upside down in a huge pool of muddy smelly silage crap.Took a pretty good dunking,when i picked it up all the water poured out of the body.Spent last night rebuilding the car,transmission was full of water.That's the second time my schulze has been for a swim and survived.Just let it dry then vacuumed out the silt and it still works!

Anyway,came up wth an ingenius high tech engineering solution,taped a load of coins to the front bumper,about 80grams worth and it works a treat.Now both ends rise up when i go full throttle but it cant quite lift the front fully,the front wheels kind of skim along the ground.Sorted.

Wow, that schulze is really durable! Glad it is still working!

Yeah it's like a cat,7 lives to go.

I don't think water has ever actually got on the PCB itself since it's got splash protection sealant stuff.It was upside down,i think only the heatsink was under water,lucky.

shuzes dont like to stay alive when they stay dry but yours stays alive even through water. man your lucky.

yea, my 9918 didnt like a few drops...but they warranted it for free...anyway, i would try some lead weights like for balancing car rims. i used 1/4 oz. im the front of my xxx and if jumped much better and more predictably. i would try them since there free (at least around here) and lead is much more dense than those coins probably.

I might go with pound coins for some more bling once i get it fine tuned.

Glad to hear everything was ok, man that shculze(sp?) can take a bit of a beating! Too bad they arent made for dry surfaces ;)
