Is this any good? - 04.24.2006, 02:39 PM

I was originally going to wait for the new MRC 989's to come out but I don't have the patience for it. It is still a couple of months away from being released. I have my LiPo's now and want to use the dam things. So I am thinking about this charger here http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail...531lipocharger Is this a good charger for a 4000mah 5s LiPo?
Thanks.

I use this charger on my Lipos with great success. I also use 5S setups, but I charge my packs independently (2S and 3S packs).

Nice charger for the price. It's running as we speak :)

It should do what you need johnny. It can charge your packs at 4amps so 1c and do the 5s lipo. If you get two can do both at same time.

Peace!

I should be getting one of those chargers on Friday (birthday). I'll be able to compare it to the ICE.

Got that one from Hobby People with my employee discount for $60, very simple to operate and works great. Only gripe is that on 12 and 14 cell charging, the amp rate is halved........so despite setting it up for 5a, it does it at 2.5a. Oh, and in the 85 degree garage, it did get a little warm doing several 7 cells, but moving off the top of the ProPeak powersupply helped quite a bit.

I have yet to use it for lipo or anything but NiMh, but it has always done a good job on all of my packs. I do rx and tx batts with it too, does them fine too.

Thanks guys.
I ordered two of them today along with the dual 7XL's and some other stuff.
Can't wait to see how the thing runs with those LiPo's! I just need to order the LVC's and some new pinions and I'm ready to rock.

Dabid; I bought that same power supply. It should power those two chargers with no problems right?
