I'm getting a used Jato, but may want to convert to BL? Any ideas to be offered?

I would personally put a 3.3 in it. Batfish converted one but had some difficulties of some sort. I think it had something to do with racabilty or durability.

I would leave it nitro, not sure if i would put a 3.3 in it(its an animal already) but i would leave it nitro

Work because i gotta, play because i wanna

People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise

a 2.5 is crazy enough imo!

The problem with nitro's these days are that they arent brushless... LOL

hehe, yeah, i can see the durability factor....i thought maybe it would be cool making it small bl....but ok, opinions well taken and maybe just leave it...3.3 though? hmmmm, that would kinda cool too.

In May of '06, there was the articles on all the 3.3's and Traxxas let them drive some experimental vehicals. A 3.3 powered Jato and a 3.3 4-Tec. The Jate was so fast that when wind got under it at full speed, it flipped...going about 65 I believe.... the 4-Tec is even faster at 70+

I think batfish had a problem with weight transfer. I think a brushless jato would be awesom if set up right.

Peace!

The biggest problem I had was my MGM 8012 controller (I believe I have that fixed now) and I plan on trying it again this coming Thursday night.
I'm going to put the MGM 8012 back in it with the Lehner basic xl 4200 and 6 nimh cells. I'm going to mount a brake servo to the back of the rear shock tower and use mechanical brakes, while leaving the transmission in the normal nitro mode with the one-way and two-speed.

The second biggest problem I had was getting weight to the back, but I think I just about had that down when I started having the problems with the speed control.

As far as durability, I only broke one front arm in the 3 months I drove it at the track. I've broken quite a few more parts on my T4 in the 5 months I've driven that truck. I don't know how the Jato holds up to bashing, but it has held up GREAT to racing.

I think I'm going to get it back together, rebuild the shocks, and try it on the track again this coming Thursday night. Maybe I'll drive it better than my T4 :003:

Hmmm....I'm pretty sure I tripped over it in my basement a couple days ago :003:
Daniel and I never finalized that, but it's still officially "for sale". I'm just going to get it back on the track again :027:

ya they have it now posted on the traxxas site. What the top speed would be with a 3.3 drop in! Future more and more advanced these days!
