Exclamation Project Mt !REVISITED! - 06.11.2006, 11:59 AM

Hey eveyone i bet you have read my thread a while ago about my nitro mt, That was one crappy truck and was really fead up with the responce of sutch an old motor. In the past months i was always thinking of ways to make it better,I've thought about puting a O.S motor in there and wasn't a full thumbs up on it.

I just didn't like nitro, wasn't for me. And now of about of a month of thinking and some little planing i've decided to convert my Old Mt.

Starting off, i took out my engine and gas tank and stripped it completely only leaving the drive shafts and radio tray.
*Note im "NOT" using brushless because im straped for cash and this truck isn't really for me, for my dad.
I decided to us a speed Gems 2 mild modified motor. Has 18 turns and is going to ran on a Duratrax E.S.C.

I found out that the pitch is mod 1 and just orderd the pinion of Mike, What i've bought was a 13T pinon, Im guessing that would be ok on a 51spure gear.

I only have one pic as of now but i already have tooken more latley.
Enjoy

Be sure to add some bracing to stiffen up the chassis. It's pretty flexy without the top deck.

I'm building an MT also, and I'm just wondering, how did you order a 13t 1/8" mod1 when they're out of stock? It's the last thing I'm waiting for to finish mine and I'm waiting for Mike to get them in.

Mine is going to be brushless. Mtroniks Genesis truck, 380c 6L on 8 cells. That's strange because for about a week now I was trying to add the 13t to my cart and it said it was out and the 12 was the only one in stock. Oh well.

If you don't want to wait, you can get a pinion here:

well today i had time to work on this truck of mine, i have made the motor mount out of 7075 alunimum seems to be quite a mount! The only problem was that it was my only piece of bracket to practise on!

The mount holds pritty tight to the chassis and the mesh is nearly perfect!!
i cut the upper deck in to places removing the gas mount and rear leaving me with the front so i can mount the radio tray.

I also cut the radio tray and everything seems to fit in great! I've tooken another piece of 7075 alunimum and added a back plate to keep the rear end connected to the centre diff.
I re-did my batteries differently because i could distribute the weight better, i made the bottom 4 cells and the top each side was a cell. 6 cells in total.
added some foam around and electrical tape so i can prevent shortage of the batteries. and tape the batteries too. All i have to do is use double stick tape for the reciver and e.s.c!!!
i tested it in the air and the mesh seems to be perfect, not too tight and not to loose, the tires dont expand but it looks to be very fast though, i think an 18t motor will do great for a begginer.

P.s sorry for the major time delay, pics Will come in ver very soon!!!!!!!!
