Yeah, a centrifugal "clutch" will engage the second gear, but you need the oneway to disengage the first. See? In order to have two separate gears, you need a oneway. At least that's how I understand it. But I have been wrong bevore. Pretty sure on this one, though.

Dafni, you are absolutely right. When the tranny spins fast enough to engage the centrifugal clutch into second gear, it will then spin faster than first gear so there has to be a way for first gear to float freely in this case, hence the OWB.
