Max Rpm? - 08.02.2006, 03:51 PM

I was wondering if anyone knew the max RPM for the Lehner 1930 series motors. I know the Lehner Basic XL series take up to 65,000RPM.

Let me know,
Joe

Common rule of thumb is to stick to around 35-40k rpm for best efficiency. You can go higher, but more heat may result. As to the max rpm before stuff starts falling apart; I don't know.

I'm running it in my dominator/emaxx hybrid, and it's on 12 cells which = to
14.4*3919 rpm per volt and it comes to 56,433 as the rpm's for the motor..I've ran this motor like this for almost 6 yrs k now and have had it on 16 cells at one time in the same truck....and it weighs about 12-13 lbs..

it little high on the rpm side, but it wa ok......if you want to run the 1920 series motor...I suggest getting a 1920/10 or 1920/11....it will keep your rpm.s i think around 50,000 or so on 16 cells

Shoot for more like 35 to 40K RPM's instead. It will run alot cooler and more efficient.

The mechanical limit is approx. 85,000 rpm for the series 10/15/19

I cut and pasted that from the brushless motor instruction sheet on the lehner website.

Line 2 here...
http://www.lehner-motoren.com/downlo...use_s10-22.doc

Thats the mechanical limit. I wouldnt run it anywhere close to that though. But its nice to know they design for that. :017:

Like everyone has already said... Stick to 35-40K RPM or you just wind up making hot motors and controllers.

I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...
or break it...

I'm looking at the 1930 series motors for a speed challenge car. In this case Im looking to run 60k+rpm's. But Jhautz thanks for that infomations, becasue I thought the mechanical limits are what they suggested on sites - 65000rpm. But now I feel better about running around 65000 as my max and not worrying about an exploding motor.

Thanks guys.

What vehicle? Is this for some specific race or challenge or just to do it?
