cheap finds at Harbor Freight -
08.15.2006, 11:23 PM
Just thought I would mention a couple things I picked up at HF yesterday. I got a tip from another forum that they had a cheap temp gun, so I checked it out.
I got a cen-tech temp gun that is almost identical to the little blue Duratrax temp gun that sells for $25. It's on sale for $9.99
I also got a couple digital calipers... 4" and 6" for about $15 each. That's really cheap. They seem to work great.
They also have a few digital mulimeters, a couple are on sale for 2.99/3.99. I got a cool little compact one for 6.99 (not on sale)
And there are coupons you can print off at home and take them to the store for an extra 20%. So you can get a temp gun for $8 or a d. caliper for $12

Unfortunate for the Nitro guys since that temp gun only goes to 230* F.

Wow.. that's weird. I didn't notice the temp range. I guess it almost covers what we need... hopefully we don't see temps above 230 :D
Hmmm... my duratrax one goes to @425* So, the case is the same but the insides are different. THe HF one also has a clock built in. THat's kinda weird too. ;)

Harbor Freight does sell some things lacking quality. But some of their stuff is a huge bargain. You can't really tell which things are junk considering all of their prouducts are made by off-brand named companies.Although I love some of the things I bought from there!
