rc10 t4 combo - 05.07.2006, 09:51 PM

hey guys, i've got an ft t4 that i used to race with. i've got a gtb 5.5 in it now, but want more speed. i'll mostly bash the truck now with a small amount of track time. i've been reading about the lehner 1920's and was wondering if a 1920/8 or 9 running 2s lipo would be to hot. any suggestions on a speed control? thanks, carl.

t4 rox with brushless, what your wanting todo is jump for a 300watt brushless system to a 700 watt system, so make sure you get the right lipo that can put out the amps, I ran a bk warrior 70 and lehner basic 4200 and done the big 1/8th scale buggy tripples. I would like to see some1 try the quark 80 Mike is selling, it has abs brakes feature and I bet that would be something to see

If you wouldn't mind the slightly larger size, you could go with a 3s or 4s Lipo battery setup. Higher voltage with a slower motor provides higher efficiency, which turns into more power out.

Alternatively you could run the Novak on 2s lipo - more power, but cheaper than a whole new system.

IIRC, Maxamp 3s 4000Mah packs should be a direct fit. They are a direct fit for the B3 tray which is more restricting.

The 1920/8 is a good motor, get the quark, then you won't need the lvc, and it's a good controller, smooth as butter. i run the 125 and it's smoooooth, they get a little warm though so need some cooling.

I agree the 1920/8 is a good motor...I beat the snot out of mine for over 5 yrs in my emaxx... that was running it at 58,000 rpms.......and it finally let go after the bash...R.I.P.......but yes the lehner motors are very well made & can take a beating as well...

I was about to say the same thing, it's perfect for a T4, I've just orderd a 5700 for mine, should come this week.

Lipos are tricky, I've being looking for some that fit, I was wanting 3s2p with 6000mah+ capacity, best I've found is MaxAmps 4000 3s2p, which someone has mentioned, a little less capacity than I was wanting. :002:
