Neu 1515 mounting question in LSPR??? - 09.13.2006, 11:31 AM

I plan on eventually getting a mount from Mike but for now can anyone tell me if the Neu 1515 will be a direct fit to an emaxx motor plate? Will the motor mounting holes line up? Its only $8 and i just really want to get my truck built ASAP! Im planning on ordering the Quark 125B and NEU 1515 from Mike as soon as i can. But if i can use the emaxx motor plate for now then that would let me race it before the season is over. Then over the winter i can get a REAL motor mount :)

Thanks
James

Yes, it will fit a stock e-maxx plate. (25 mm screw distance is used with the Neu as well.

you can adapt the plate to fit the center diff.

The bolt pattern is standard so they will fit no problem.

My LHS should have the diff mounts now if you want me to make one... a "glass style" 6mm carbon fiber motor mount could be done this week. ;)

My first 1/8 motor mount was a cut up emaxx plate too....

:018: Exactly what i wanted to here!!! I was looking at the century Mod 1 gears....any idea what tooth count i should start with? I can do 9, 10, 12, 13, or 14 tooth gears. I will be using the stock LSP spur gear which i think is 50T......i will purchase the kyosho plastic spur from mike(46t i think) later.

I plan on ordering the emaxx motor plate and a few of the century pinions from tower right now. Everything else will be from Mike. What 3 pinions out of those would you get?

Thanks for the help as usual :)

Let me see if i can make one out of the emaxx plate for right now. I do appreciate the offer greatly. I love making my own stuff as it adds to the fun but i only have minimal tools.....and the fact that im lazy doesnt help:) Im hoping to order some stuff from Mike next weekend(depending on when he gets some in stock). If im lucky....it will be ready to rip by October 15th!!!

Second the plastic spur gear... make sure you get one with your other stuff. Mike has them... I would buy two just to have a spare. You will save a lot of $$ on chewed pinions, and the kyosho gear is only 5 bucks.

Which kv motor are you getting?

For the 1700kv I would suggest 12-14 gears.

The 2200kv... 9-11 gears

Ill be buying the NEU 1515 2200kv, Quark 125B, 4-5 kyosho gears, Maxamps 8000 7.2v lipo, and 9-11tooth pinions from Mike as soon as i can. I will probably purchase the Motor and a few of the other things next week or whenever he has them in stock.

Do you think my choice of electronics will be a nice setup in the LSPR? Will the NEU motor be powerful/efficient enough to run competitively against people running Nemesis, Hacker, and Feaigio(sp?) motors in there LSP's and CRT's?

Oh and glass......2 minutes to late LOL with that code

Im gonna buy the pinions from Mike. I would buy everything from him if i could but i really wanted to get started on the mount early next week. I should have everything from Tower by Wednesday.

Sorry I need to type faster next time. :D

I think the Neu will do just fine against the other brand motors.... just gear up for more insane speeds. The 9-11 pinions are what I think are good for racing. For street bashing and showing off ;) you may need taller gearing... grab something like a 14 or 16 just for fun. :D
