Super!!! fast buggy setup ..... -

Im thinking im going to buy a new XRAY XB8R buggy to convert to electric. I currently run a highly modded maxx with a mgm24/160 and lehner 1950/8. And a 4s lipo brushless RC18t so like my fast trucks. im looking for some thing a bit faster. for doing speed runs.
Ill be looking at another mgm and proberbly a lehner again unless i go for a neu. Ill be running flighpower lipos, with whatever voltage i need to attain my wanted speed. No buget as such......
i want to see how far i can push this speed wise. 70 ? 80 ? mph runtime isnt to important but 15mins plus would be nice.
So what do you think i should go for battery, ESC and motor wise?
You might want to consider filling the center diff with something like 500,000+ weight oil, otherwise you might not have any tread left on the front tires after just one run! A Neu 21 series would be huge! When you think of it as the Neu 15 series being the size of the Lehner 19 series, the Neu 21 motors must be bigger than the Lehner 22 motors.
SH Z-Car, Custom Crawler, 8s Savage, 12s XTM XLB 1/7 buggy, 4wd 4-link rear/IFS Pro4 truck, Custom Hyper 10 Short Course, Belt-Drive Mammoth ST 1/8 truggy, 4s 17.5 MM Pro HPI Blitz
2215 neu is too much weight imo, I run a 2240 and MGM 24/160 on 8S on my x1-crt and it is a lot of weight, my truggy weighs 12 pounds rtr. That motor weighs more than my 2240, a 11-12 pound buggy sounds too heavy to me.
Why would a Neu 1521 not be engouh motor? I think 3000W would just about do it. :D
I think my 1512 could get my buggy over 60 if I bumped up to 5s... and certainly would on 6s. Not saying it's a good choice but I think it would do it. It runs somewhere in the 40's on 4s geared 18/46 and barely breaks a sweat. (in the street) I think I will get the gps out and try soem speed runs just so I know what it's doing now. Wish I had some taller gears though....

what about a 2230 lehner, remember this thing will be for speed runs as I already have a 1950 maxx. I draw out the sizes on the neu on paper and it made my 1950 look tiny. so I'm now thinking 22 series as this was my originally what I was thinking .
FYI I just checked the top speed with my 1512 (1900kv) in the 1/8 buggy... 43 mph on not wuite fully charged 4s lipo. That's with 18/46 and it could pull a much higher gearing I believe if I had something to try.
6s should push it over 60 mph with this setup... need a Monster max... :)

Well then you can get it to go a lot faster than that put dual jetcat p160 and use them like nitrous oxide:005:
Btw off-road trucks and buggies are a lot heaver and trying to push them that fast is going to stress a lot of things out.
