I got the E-Station 701 and its only DC. DC is better IMHO.

Yeh I use 12v Battery all the time, the plugs in UK just arn't up to the job.

Those high-cell chargers almost HAVE to be DC operated. Otherwise, a typical AC transformer would have to be able to output as much voltage and current as the largest pack it is rated for and the losses as heat would be quite high. The charger simply takes 12v DC input and converts it (using a PWM circuit) to a higher (or lower) DC value for the charger circuits depending on the pack charging. This makes the charger MUCH more efficient and MUCH lighter/smaller. Very similar to how car amplifiers work - at least in the power supply stage anyway.

looks more like 9-10c to me. at 12c the pack already gets over 140 degrees and only 3800mah. at 15c its only giving 3348mah, dont know how they could pass that off as a 15c pack. sad thing is all the manufactors are probably doing the same thing.

Yea, I think TrueRC calls them what they are...10C. Unlike Max Amps that over rates them...

I can't blame maxamps for calling them 12-15c (are they now called 15C?) cause it fits based on how most other sellers rate them. It's a deep subject... a lot of different way cells get labeled.

I think 10C is actually underrating them... they surely qualify for 12c imho. 15c may be a stretch if the 3348 is accurate.... I don't recall the graph curve. What is voltage at mid point and max temp at 15c?

I bought a cheapie chinese (I think) pack once that was complete garbage... rated I think 12c and it ran like maybe a 4c

According to my own measurements, the maxamps can deliver 70A without dropping below the 3V mark.

Is that the 8000 or 6000 rene? Which cells was in the graph? Which cells did you have as well rene? I like to know this for a better comparsion. Hard to compare last years to this years model.

I have got the 'old' type maxamps (45mm) and the graphs i have seen where of the current cells i presume? they claimed to be the same specs as used on their site now.

So if the old ones are 45mm then the new ones are 50mm, so TrueRcs are Maxamps?

Maxamps no longer has the 50mm cells and doesn't plan to get any more... the 45mm are still current.

Yes, and the new batch of his 45's are more powerful. maxxamps doesn't overrate the cells, at least not with the 'old' 45 mm cells, i got a set of the new ones too, i will test them soon.
