Mike have you or anybody else ever tried running a lehner 3100xl on 14 cells?. If so how does it compare to a 9L on 14 cells ?.

The Lehner xl3100 on 12 cells will keep up with or beat the Feigao on 14 cells. The xl2400 or xl2800 is closer in power to the Feigao 9L. The Lehner basicxl motors are very powerful little motors. I use them in my trucks now mostly. They are lighter and more efficient then the Feigaos and really pack some punch. The Feigaos definately are great motors for the money, but in my light weight race trucks, I have been running the Lehners motors this year. The Feigao motors have more torque (drives more like a pickup truck vs a sport car feel of the Lehner) and may be a better choice for the heavy weight crowd. My race trucks are all in the 8 pound range RTR. A 12 pound truck would be better served with a larger motor (not that the lehner wouldn't work-it would work fine).

Thank's i also think my lehner is faster on 12 cells , than my feigio is on 14 cells. But can i run my lehner on 14 cells ? If i can't what motor on 14 cells would give me the maxx power & speed on 14 cells for a 12 # truck

The xl3100 can take 14 cells with no problem. In a 12 pound truck, it will be working pretty hard (will tend to run hot), but it will be a beast for sure. I have run the 8L on 14 cells before as well, and it was one he** of a performer.

Thank's mike i may try 14 cells on my lehner at the next race it's already a beast on only 12 cells in my 10 pound gmaxx. As for my speedo i'm using a shulze 1897kw with my lehner set on soft timing.

Ps
mike how is the 8L on 14 cells compared to a 9L on 14 cells. Like i said eairler my 3100xl on 12 cells is faster than my 9L on 14 cells. Will the 8L be faster than my lehner. Also i raced for the first time with the fastlane arms i bought from you they are great.

The xl3100 will still be a touch faster than the 8l on 14 cells, but they are close in performance. Both will be a handful on a race track, though.
The key to an 8 pound truck is shedding all the excess weight you can. I even modify the pro-line bowtie tires to be almost 2 ounces lighter per wheel on my race truck. LiPo power is the kicker, though. With the 14.4 volt set-up, I can still finish a 5 minute heat with power and runtime to spare, but the batteries weigh about as much as one 6 cell stick pack. I also run 4 shocks and have the g-maxx single speed prototype(half the tranny is gone, as well as the shift servo). I also use the Lehner basic xl motors (smaller and lighter than the Feigao). I don't use a receiver pack or UBEC either. The truck is all aluminum (actually, I have three similar trucks-they are all around the same RTR weight when using the same equipment, but each has a slightly different suspension/chassis/motor setup). They all hover at just over 8 pounds RTR with LiPos. Even with 12 cells, they are all below 9 pounds RTR. I could probably get into the high 6 pound range if I wanted (using stock plastic parts), but then the other e-maxxes would push my truck around like it was a xxxt on the track(I already can be pushed around by the other trucks due to the light weight)!

I made the a main with my gmaxx saturday. I was racing revos and was pulling away from them on the straight. i was using my 10p gmaxx with 3100 xl on 12 cells. I ran 9min 30 sec before i ran out of gas the revo guys could'nt belive how fast my truck was and that the battery lasted so long. i was set on soft timing on my speedo and might have been 1 or 2 teeth to high i'm going to gear down next time i had plenty of speed to spare. I may get a set of 3700's for the mains .

Those 3700's do not fit the gmaxx frame perfectly i heard? Or is it good to go, with only 6 cells on each side?

The chassis plate is designed for the slightly smaller 3300 batteries, but the 3700s still slide in fine from what customers have told me. the difference in size is pretty small.

I use rc 10 battery cups instead of the slots. I do this because i had battery short out on the chassis.

Do you use the foam pads? I shorted a battery on the chassis a while ago, but it was before the pads came to be. No problems since installing the pads.

I use the rc10 battery cups too and then run the gorilla straps over them. i do it just to hold the battery packs a little better since i am running lipos, i want to have them strapped in a good as i can.
