The Cellshield isn't ideal for RC cars, since it's made for airplanes. When the LVC kicks in, it pushes the throttle to 0 for airplanes, and on cars that's full brake/reverse. If you have reverse enabled, it will give it WOT reverse. If reverse is disabled, then it will just brake hard.

Dimension Engineering will be making a car version of the Cellshield, with the neutral throttle set-point in the correct position.

As for using the taps vs. not using the taps, it's better protection vs. not as good protection.

The Cellshield can be hooked up to a computer, through the temp. probe port.
