Yes. I called them a while back when I was trying to figure out exactly what the "torque" setting was and how it worked. I though it was like the "timing seting on the mamba25, but it turns out its more of a current limiter according to the guy at quark. The Lipo High and Lipo Normal setting is also a current limiter, but with more of a hard cieling as I understood it.

Anyway... Yes, I talked to them directly. Yes, they were very helpful and took plenty of time to help me work though my issues and even asked me to call back and let them know how it all worked out after I got a chance to "test" the changes they recomended. Seems to be a very good company.

That's great news! Jhautz, if i may sir, what setting would you suggest for 5s Lipo? I currently have it on soft for the torque, and normal 3.0 cut off for lipo?

I'd call Quark we can only speculate, they know the unit inside and out and may have run into your problem during R&D.

I cant say that this is the ''best'' setting, but I run 5s with no issues on 2 different Quarks with the settings:
Torque=Normal 1 and
Battery type=Lipoly Normal.

I have never changed the cut off voltage from the factory setting. Not sure what the cut off is, but I have had not issues at all.

I believe factory is 2.7. I have mine set to soft, and normal lipo(after setting the cut off on 3.0)

Maybe not now that I know how the MM works, especially for the price.

smhertzog: Yeah, the manual does read that way. It is confusing. On one hand it does say that changing from Lipo manual (and then setting the manual level) to Lipo automatic won't change the manual setting. It does not explicitly say anything about what happens when switching to NiMH though. Logic would dictate that any NiMH setting would disregard the manual cutoff settings, but you never know. So, to be sure, I'd set the manual cutoff to 2.2v. For 12 cells, the ESC should "see" that as 4s lipo. At 2.2v/cell, it will cut off at 8.8v (2.2 X 4), which is probably good for 12 NiMH cells. You'll surely see performance loss long before you get to that level. For 14 cells, it might see that as 5s, and cut off at 11v (2.2 X 5). See how that runs. If all looks good, you might then try setting the battery type to NiMH normal/high and try it again.
I agree, I'm the type who will wait and see what happens as far as buggs. The only reason i got a mamba max so quick was i was reading everything the betas were posting and never saw a problem with them

Work because i gotta, play because i wanna

People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise

But given the number of performance shortfalls they seem to be showing, I'm wondering just how extensive the R&D was...
