Snapped both my GMaxx Straps... - 10.07.2006, 09:05 PM

Well, I was at the track today with my G2R and a my battery packs slid out a few times during hard cornering and crash landings, and then my straps broke. (I only crashed 3 times...)

So, what do I do now? I've heard of using two sets of straps, but I have a question. Do I use a set of compression washers for each set of straps, or do I put both straps on a single compression washer?

I have had mine for almost a year and while frayed they are holding strong. You might want to consider these http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail...od=GMX05-ST-CF, but not sure if they will work on 12 to 14 cells

Work because i gotta, play because i wanna

People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise

I'm going to try a couple tricks, because I know exactly why the broke. They broke because the pressure was kind of placed in one area - right where the rounded part of the pressure washer was. It created a stress point and the tear started from there.

Yeah, the all familiar weak spot on the straps.

If you use 2 straps, one from front to rear, the other from rear to front, they seem to hold up perfectly.

I bought the 1" wide versions and they lasted about 5 minutes.
