just a thought............. - 10.10.2006, 09:57 PM

i know people are having trouble with the quark 125 and 6s lipo.

this may be stupid because people (i think) have really bad cogging from a start when the lipo is fully charged, but what about leaving the quark in NIMH mode and using a external lvc or no lvc just to test? maybe the problem is the lipo mode itself. i don't have lipos to test myself or i would....................

That's a good idea to try! Or, just as a test, don't use an LVC at all and see what it does for a couple of minutes. From what I've read, the cogging/stuttering happens right away. Only when the pack drains a little does it go away...

In my experience w/ 6s on the 125, it stutters badly at first, then as it heats up it gets much better. I actually think that its the heat from running a couple minutes that helps it more than the lower voltage, but its a reasonble theory.

I just quit trying to run 6s. I'm set up for 5s anyway, and when I run 6s, its not the quark stuttering that stops me from running, its the fact that I keep tearing up the drivetrain w/ all that torque. 6S is fun but really bad bad for other parts:)

Do you mean it runs better after the batts heat up or the ESC? Either way, I wonder why that would make a difference. Hmmm.

After the ESC heats up. No idea why it would be. Just my observation thats all. It could definitely be something else.
