I'm working on an e-revo of my own, and I would like to see some pics of conversions where people have used the stock e-maxx battery trays on their truck. I've yet to see a pic of how someone did this, and I'd like to. I'm pretty sure I know how I'm gonna do it, but I'd like to see what others have come up with. I'd also like to see one where someone has retained the 2-speed, and seen what they have done to the shift linkage to make it work (I've seen dafni's, and I'd like to see a closeup or something showing what had to be done to the linkage).

As a sidenote, I need a dremel, 4mm screws, and a 4mm tap and die set to finish this project. If anyone has something I listed they don't need or that is old and used that they would like to sell, let me know please. Until I can find a deal on this stuff I can afford I will not be able to finish my truck :(

Some AE cups and a piece flat aluminum can help you out as well.

Just be creative, i am sure you can figure it out.

Update, I acquired a real dremel in good working condition for 18 bucks shipped. Woo hoo! Only problem is, it doesn't come with any bits. So, does anyone have a few grinding bits for aluminum, or cutting bits for plastic that I could purchase pretty cheap, or have any links to some I could buy online cheaply?

Is there a hardware store near you? Chances are they will have some cutting/grinding/drilling/etc. bits for the Dremel (all 3 of my local hardware stores do).

I've not found one to date. I'm still finding all the stuff here around the college, but no I haven't found one yet. What would three bits cost me? I just want one to cut the al, one to cut the plastic, and a grinding bit to grind the aluminum and clean up sharp edges a little.

edit, and as a sidenote, my only mode of transportation is walking, or the little CAT busses that run around here, but it's hard to get to a specific location using those, and they don't go everywhere. But hey, they're free.

If you have a Harbo Freight around, then they should have some. $10 should get you what you need, but I recommend buying a whole box. I found one (it was off namebrand stuff) for about $20. Had a couple hundred things in it.

Yeah, I found a true value nearby, if that doesn't pan out I'm goin' with HF, they have a 120 attachment set for 10 bucks, but I don't know what shipping will be. I'm hoping the true value will also have the 4mm tap and die set I need, and maybe even the 4mm screws. If they don't I'm orderin' my screws from mc-master carr I believe.

MWE, how many screws and what sizes do you need in 4mm. I have some assorted 4mm button heads and I could maybe work out a deal with you. I bought several different packs from McMaster-Carr and have more than enough for several revo's.

I was just gonna buy 100, but half that would probably do it. Enough to worry about an esc mount and a receiver mount, a tranny, one shift servo, and two battery trays. Plus of course a few extra just in case.

K guys, just got my dremel in the mail today (like 13 bucks shipped, woo hoo!), and was working on it a bit, until I ran out of cutting wheels (came with three, and the e-maxx chassis ate those like candy). So, after those were all gone, I began checking out exactly how I am going to mount my shifter.

I'm a bit stumped right now. I can't machine those cool mounts out of aluminum like dafni did, so, I'm open to suggestions. Right now I'm contemplating using parts of the steering assembly from the e-maxx to cut with the dremel as they need to be to run the screws through betwen the chassis and servo, essentially doing the same thing as dafni's mounts. This is going to be no easy task though, not to get right anyway.

I have access to a small amount of plexiglass, and am not a bit above using scrap plastic from the leftover bits of emaxx chassis, or using household stuff (bottles, caps, markers, etc.). I just need this to be funtional, I'll make it pretty down the road.

And please, no posts telling me I should just ditch the 2 speed and shifter and go single speed. I've weighed my options, and I want this to be 2 speed. I like shifting, and for my own reasons it is staying 2speed. Thanks.
