Hv 4.5 - 10.18.2006, 02:04 AM

Has anyone had first-hand experience with the new HV-Maxx 4.5 system? Just curious as to how it performs, and the type of improvement it has over the older HVs...

I had one and I am going to be selling it on eBay this week. It is an improvement over the 6.5. The power and speed do increase, but nothing too huge. It can't even begin to compare to the Quark/8xl combo I have now. But, for a basically stock E-Maxx with a few drivetrain improvements, it is a nice drop-in no hassle system. If you're a power/speed junkie go with something else.

were you able to get an "official" speed? Is the HV capable of pulling wheelies on demand, like many of the non-sensored brushless systems (of course, the hv don't have as much torque though)?

Thanks

My HV 4.5 in my G2R flipped on its lid constantly if I gave it full throttle with 13/70 gearing. I've since switched to 15/70 and switched the e-maxx tranny friction pegs to ball bearings and it's been perfect since. Still wheelies and fixed the lid problem with a Tekno wing.

Plenty of top speed and torque for me. I only bash and don't race. I don't see the purpose of having so much top end around here because our local bash and track sites have a lot of jumps.

hmmm..if it lives up to Novak's claim of 40-45, I may have to give it a try...
